Iphone 12 pro max overheating

Iphone 12 pro max is overheating during video calls, often getting error message that iPhone needs to cool off in order to use it, it gets extremely hot and eventually shuts off. This happens only during video calls, not while charging or any other normal activity, with or without cover on. Does anyone have any idea how can this be solved ? Anyone else experienced anything similar?
