Download of macOS 12.1 freezes on my 24inch M1 iMac

When I tried to download macOS 12.1 on my 24 inch M1 iMac, it stopped the installation with just 12 minutes to go. I tried again with the same results.

So I DISCONNECTED EVERYTHING from the USB ports in the back of the computer and tried again.

It resumed the downloading process from 12 minute to go and successfully completed the download.

I have learned that I must disconnect ALL usb peripherals BEFORE I download a macOS update to my 24 inch M1 iMac.

I hope this info helps other people with the same problem.

If it does help someone, please send me replies so we can confirm this to be a solution for some 24 inch iMacs.

Thank God for finding this solution for me.

Maybe Wi-Fi interference from High Speed USB cables and devices.

If your Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth are slow, weak or unable to connect?

Move your USB cables and devices away from your wireless device paths.

Try replacing any thin poorly shielded USB cables with better shield USB cables.
