Transfer Iphone already connected to eSim

I have an Iphone set up on the internal esim card so no sim card is in the carrier. I have a verizon account. I want to restore my old iphone settings/accounts/layout from a backed up icloud account. How do I do this w/o losing the verizon esim connection?

I understand that you want to restore your old iPhone from an iCloud backup of your current iPhone which uses an eSIM. I understand that you are concerned whether the eSIM will transfer to your old iPhone.

  1. Is your old iPhone an iPhone XS or newer? Is NOT, then the eSIM will not be a concern since older iPhones do not have this capability.
  2. If your old iPhone is an iPhone XS or newer, then you must ensure that the iOS version is the same as your new iPhone so that it can use that iCloud backup to restore from.
  3. Finally, you don’t have to worry about getting the eSIM transferred to your old iPhone because your old iPhone has its own IMEI and therefore you will be asked whether you want to transfer the eSIM and you should simply decline. You are not going to accidentally end up installing the eSIM on your old iPhone.
