I am not sure what iPad Model or Apple Pencil you have but the following link explains some ways to resolve your issue with your Apple Pencil:

However, can you also check that you have the most recent iPadOS update for your iPad. The following link explains how to update your iPad:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/ipad/ipad9a74c576/ipados


If the problem persists, you are also able to contact Apple Support.
