iPhone 13 thinks my car stereo is headphones?

I have an old car stereo that I have a manually plugged into my phone, however I get the notification that my ‘headphones’ are too loud and I have to fiddle with my phone while driving to up the volume again. I have seen solutions for when this happens to a Bluetooth car speakers but not for non-Bluetooth ones.

Is there a way I can let my phone know that it is plugged into my truck and not headphones?

Hello SheIly1985,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're receiving Headphone Notifications when your iPhone is connected to a car stereo using a cable.

For non-Bluetooth devices, there is not a way to identify the car stereo as such in order to bypass Headphone Notifications. You can however turn this feature off if you do not need it:

Here are some additional ways in which you can customize your audio as well:

Take care.
