iPhone XR glitches

My iPhone XR is around 2.5 years old and has worked great up until the last few weeks.

One thing it has been doing is when I close out tabs in safari they keep showing back up and I can’t get rid off them. Also it’s choosing one tab to like you could say “prioritize” where every time I open safari it automatically goes to that tab even if I wasn’t in that one a few minutes before. I had to close them all out and shut my phone down multiple times to get them to go away. And now it did it again.

Also when my phone is under 35% battery it is almost non functional anymore. I’ll be doing something and it stops and goes to a black screen with a small loading symbol and stays like that for a few seconds until it brings me back to my Lock Screen. I try to swipe up and unlock it and it does it again, like a never ending cycle that’s lasts for a few minutes at a time.

Both of these issues are super frustrating and I’m trying to figure out a way to fix it.

Hi e_223,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with Safari and your iPhone battery. We're happy to provide some information to assist.

We recommend checking your overall battery health by navigating to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. A degraded battery can impact the performance of your iPhone. If needed, the article here can help you check as well: iPhone Battery and Performance

Specifically the sections "When batteries chemically age" and "Your battery's maximum capacity" under Battery Health.

If the battery health is greater the 80%, we'd also recommend checking, and freeing some local storage on your device with the help of the article here: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If all looks well, you can also test clearing your Safari history directly and testing. Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

As there are multiple issues, be sure you have a recent backup of your data: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Should the issues remain, contact Apple Support directly to further assist and help check on your options.
