I have “ask to buy” turned in but child can still make purchases

I have a family sharing in place, and then selected “ask to buy“ for my youngest child. However, he is able to make purchases without me knowing, which is resulted in hundreds of dollars in purchases. Gratefully, Apple has refunded most of it, but I need the teacher to work so I don’t have this happen again.

Make sure everything is configured correctly --> Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - https://support.apple.com/HT201089

Try signing out and back in again on the child's device so it registers the newest settings.
