How to Rotate object and keep it's position

I'd like to rotate an object and keep it's position while it moves. I rotate it using keyframes but it doesn't rotate in a perfect circle, it rotates outside of a perfect circular path. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Look at your image - clearly, the Anchor Point is NOT at the center of the circle! It should be a little more to the left of its current position

You need to change it in the Inspector (note: as you do it, the circle itself will move; after you get the anchor point right, adjust the position accordingly).

Some screenshots would help. What object is this?

Scaling, rotation and transforming are all relative to the object's reference point, which is known as the "Anchor Point" you can see where it is when you activate the Transform tool in the Viewer:

In some cases you may need to first adjust where the Anchor Point is.

Again, a screenshot would be helpful.

Finally Luis gave the right hint. But the anchor point in FCP is difficult to understand - and to handle.

Right now I don't have enough time to make a tutorial. Probably at the weekend I'll have.

Attached a little video - if that's what you're aiming for:
