Cat peed on macbook air

So I woke up this morning to see that my cat had peed on my work bag with my laptop in it. The bag was mostly dry so I’m assuming that it was there for a while. The pee definitely got in where the hinge is but I’m not sure where else, I think its only where the hinge is. My laptop still works, but there’s a circle at the bottom of the screen, near the hinge, where it is brighter than the rest of the screen. I made an appointment to at least get my laptop checked out. That’s in two days though. Is there anything that I can do before my appointment to make sure my laptop is still usable?

Until you get to your appointment, I would suggest that you leave the display open to allow any remaining liquid to evaporate. Again, it is important to leave the notebook powered-off. If you need to use a computer, see if you can borrow one from a friend or relative.

The issue with liquid getting inside is that there is a good chance that it will leave conductive residue. Urine had a number of trace elements. Any present could cause a short ... and why I am asking you to keep it powered-off.
