just got an alert from dynamic-standard.com saying my computer is infected with a trojan virus (e.tre456_worm.osx) and i must click OK to repair. The message says "Apple Care." Is this legit?

Your welcome. Please read macOS - Security - Apple. In short NEVER fall for a scam like that and do not install any third party antivirus, cleaning or any other "maintenance" apps on your iMac. Simply keep Mac OS up-to-date and otherwise leave it alone. About the only maintenance you need to do is a simple restart on the computer about 1x per week.
