my macbook is not accepting my password at startup

Hi there

my macbook is no longer recognising my password at startup and guest user is saying reset using apple ID which it is not recognising as correct otherwise I would not be here om this site asking the question.

HELP ;)

I can’t log in to my MacBook When I turn on my MacBook, it takes me a gray screen with my profile saying, “[update Needed]”. When I type in the password, it is incorrect. I lt does not let me click the question mark, so there is no way that I can try to reset my password. The only access that I have to the computer is through the guest user, but I need my main user.

Trying to log into my MacBook Air. It will not give me the option to reset or restart to make a new password. Usually there is a ? That pops up after password failure. Nothing is coming up. I’ve restarted my computer over and over. Nothing.
