mail drop not work

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities! We understand that when sending email attachments using Mail Drop on your Mac, they are failing to send.

Let's start by confirming that one of the emails that you're attempting to send meets the Mail Drop limits outlined here:

You may also want to try compressing the file as suggested here:

"If you're attaching a large file

Message attachments can't exceed the maximum size allowed by your email service provider or the recipient's email service provider. The maximum size varies by service provider. Try using Mail Drop, compressing the file before sending it, or sending your message without the attachment."

One last thing to check would be to ensure that you have not exceeded your mailbox size and sending limits for iCloud:

I've updated MacOS to Monterey 12.1. I found that when I want to send large files, the mail drop does not work (it is checked in the preferences). The message just remains in the Outbox and the files are removed.

This probably occurred during my last two or three updates of the MacOS system.

Try at a later date and compare your results.

The Apple servers have had some recent and server issues the last couple days—including the Mail.

It may say resolved however it does not necessarily mean it is up and running for everyone...just saying
