My iPhone sees my Apple TV’s, they are all on the same network and I can airplay from my iPhone without any issues. The problem is my remote all on my phone will not connect to the Apple TV’s even though it sees them. I have restarted all devices. And software is up to date it just keeps saying connecting and then stops

The only odd thing I see here, is that the names do no match. The first screen shot says ‘Basement’, the second screen shot says ‘Great room’. Use the top drop-down menu in the software Remote to select the Apple TV that you want to use the remote for, by name.

The new appleTV remote built into iOS will connect to AppleTV, but if you swipe it away to use other apps and then come back to the Remote it tries to reload and connect to the AppleTV AGAIN… except it will not connect. It’s annoying as ****!
I have the same issue. I’ve been using the control center remote on my phone for months, and now after an iPhone or Apple TV update in the last few months, I’m having disconnect issues fixed only by restarting my iPhone.
