Migration Assistant
Can I use migration assistant to transfer information from 2010 iMac to 2021 iMac?

Yes, but it is better to use Setup Assistant. Please read Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant. If you do not have a Time Machine backup of the 2010, then please create one. If you are not familiar with Time Machine please read about it in Back up your Mac with Time Machine. You will only need an External Hard Disk and if you need one here is one that many experienced users use, the OWC Mercury Elite Pro. Once you have migrated you can use the same External Hard Disk to backup the new 2021 Mac.
