MacBook air

Does anyone know why my MacBook air won't turn on?


I was installing a app on it and it was like 2-5 gigs and I walked away and the screen went black since it wasn't being used and I came back a few to check on it an it wouldn't turn on so I was wondering if there's a fox that's more useful then trouble shoot it's bin about 9 hrs since it happen and it's 10:57pm est posting this

Somethings you can try before hand.


You can first try and see if you can get it into recovery mode:

About macOS Recovery on Intel-based Mac computers - Apple Support

Use macOS Recovery on a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support


If this works, start Disk Utility and attempt to do a repair disk. Reboot and see if the solves the issue.

If that doesn't do anything, enter recovery again and try re-installing macOS.


If you can't enter recovery mode, then your only recourse is to have it checked out as previously suggested.


BTW, before taking that action you can try testing the hardware:

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

This may give you an idea of what is broken and possible costs.
