235.5MB used of 5GB but iphone wont back up to icloud

Yes. It makes sense. Making a backup will require 5.1 GB of cloud storage. You have less than 5GB of cloud storage available. You will not be able to back up to iCloud unless you purchase additional iCloud storage.

i did, the only BUT I have is the only thing I’m backing up to iCloud is my
notes and so the phone says I have 235.5MB of 5GB used but it also says the next back up size is 5.1GB?? Doesn’t make any since

Read that article again, and scroll to:
You have a iPhone 12 Pro Max -> 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB.

So ur telling me when the phone was brand new out of the box it needs more then 5GB to back up and the 5 free is really
worthless??
I'm telling you that with the data YOU have on the phone right now, it will require 5.1GB to back up in iCloud.
