Apple ID Locked

Accidentally plugged in the wrong password to my new phone trying to download the apps that transferred and it gave me a flag saying my Apple ID was locked for security reasons. I did the authentication for my identity and it said I will get an email tomorrow. Did I do this right or is there another way to fix this issue?

If you have changed your ID or password, have you followed the steps in this article? Make sure you turn of Find My Phone before signing out of the old ID. Once signed out and Find My Phone is off, then sign in with the new ID, then turn Find My Phone back on.
