unable to connect safari to internet

Hi, I just upgraded my OS to Monterey on my MacBook Pro. Since the upgrade, I am not able to access the internet whenever I use safari as my browser. I am however able to access internet if I use Chrome. I read some online troubleshooting. One of the recommendations is to turn off safari extensions. I can't open that as well. It's just a blank page. What do I do?

If the Mail and Apple Store also don't work:

System Preferences > Network > Advances > Proxies

You may have to unlock the lock.

If there is any Proxies selected, please uncheck it.
