how can i update my old mac book pro2013?

UPDATE, as used in all Apple documentation, means apply all available fixes to bring the currently-running Major version up to its best level.


If you are one version back from the latest Major version, it also may offer you the next higher version as an UPGRADE.


If you are several versions back from the latest available, there may be later versions available as an UPGRADE, but these will NOT be offered to you in the Software Update window.


Depending on what version you are currently running, and how far your particular model-year MacBook Pro can be UPGRADED, the procedure for obtaining a different major version varies.
