Spotlight search not working

UPDATE: after Reset All Settings & Update of iOS to 15.4 the search started to work again.

Did you try with the approach when you connect iphone via usb cable and then completely reinstall the whole iOS using builtin tool to macOS? I did that and that worked, I've also tried the second approach with only updating the iOS via cable/finder from macOS which was suggested by support but that didn't work.

Sorted this out by installing the OS from a scratch and bringing back my settings from iCloud.

To begin, if you go to Settings > Siri & Search, then tap on one of your more frequently used apps, do you see that Show App in Search and Show Content in Search are both enabled? Have a look at the 'Change search settings' section of this link to learn more:

Also, you mentioned restoring your iPhone to try to resolve the issue. Did you set it up as a new device afterwards or did you restore from a backup?

I have the same issue. After connecting with apple support they have suggested to reinstall/update the system using apple cable and some macOS computer. I did that, updated the phone using finder but it didn't help either. Issue persists since 15.2 and even on recent iOS 15.3.

I face the same problem. Neither the spotlight, nor the search in messages work. Went through all recommended steps (incl. reset, change of language, disactivate search in recently downloaded apps, reset of all settings) - nothing helped.

I noticed that after restarting the spotlight would work for couple of searches / minutes. Also when typing in app name, it would sometimes (very rarely) find it after longer period. To me this looks like a memory problem.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS 15.4.1 is facing the same problem. my regional settings are Malaysia - English UK. I have tried the solutions above bt the problem persists - no Spotlight Search in the Settings Menu.

Furthermore, when I enter a new contact, it doesn't find the contact in Contact Search!

Please fix this

The same issue here, tried many of the suggested solutions… the problem still reappears. And it’s extremely limiting the functionality of iPhone…

Something strange, In FRANCE spotlight were working great but when I returned back in ALGERIA it's stopped working ?

What's wrong why SPOTLIGHT search does not works in some countries like ALGERIA ?
