I need to send off my iPhone to be repaired. I’m going to borrow a friends iPhone during this time and wondered if I can log into my iCloud and restore all my data on the temporary phone but when I get my phone back restore it back on there so I don’t loose anything. Will that work or is there a better way? Hope that makes sense?

You would need to do this prior and after using your friends phone What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
