Lossless Apple Music and bluetooth.

I've recently purchases a pair of excellent speakers which use BlueTooth. As a result I have started using the Apple Lossless option. The sound quality is better. However, there are a few issues. Formerly if I stopped the music for a while, I could return and play the same song where it left off. I can still do that when I choose high quality sound. However, with the Lossless music if I press play on the song I left off on, there will either be a few seconds of music which will then stop, at which time, it will show the music being played but there will be no sound. Sometimes, there is no music and the marker just moves without sound. I am able to listen to the song if I press the red Play button which starts the entire album. I can then manually choose to return to the previous song. This does not seem to happen when I use the Music App on my iPhone to play through those speakers on Lossless.

Any ideas how to get around this problem?

One more informational question. On the top right when I am playing in Music there is an airport pop up menu. Do you know if it makes a difference if I choose Shai's MacBook Pro/Audioengine HD4 or the one underneath with is simply Audioengine HD4? The speakers work on either choice. Here is a screen shot:

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.1

Just a clarification: Apple Lossless via Bluetooth isn't supported. The Bluetooth's bandwidth is limited so it's impossible to carry the whole lossless audio informations. You're listening to lossy AAC via Bluetooth.

I skip to the second question because I haven't an answer for the first.

Since Audioengine HD4 speakers offer USB, analog and Bluetooth inputs, I suppose the double output seen in Music app are USB and Bluetooth. The former (USB) offer better quality because it should feed Audioengine HD4's internal DAC offering lossless and hi-res Apple Music playback capabilities.
