Bluetooth music cuts in and out

I have a Macbook Pro 13' 2014, and I installed Mac Os Mojave 3 days ago.

I have connected my Macbook with a JBL Xtreme 2 speaker via bluetooth. The distance between each other is 30cm.

Both devices have their latest firmware, and i use Spotify premium account in order to listen to music. Spotify is also at its latest version.

The problem is that sometimes, when I listen to music, i have music cuts in and outs, either when I use my mac, opening softwares, using chrome, opening tabs etc, but not heavy softwares, either when the next song starts playing.

I do not know what to do. During the update to Mojave, I did a clean restore. I did not use any backup file.

I have no problem when I connect my speaker with my Iphone Xs Max iOS 13.4 or other bluetooth devices.

Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance

Hi jakeduth,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand music is cutting in and out while playing via your JBL Xtreme 2 Bluetooth speaker connected to your Mac. I'd like to see how I can help.

I would first recommend checking and ruling out interference as the cause of this behavior: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support.

Then, you may want to consider disconnecting and removing your Bluetooth speaker from your Mac Connect a Bluetooth device with your Mac - Apple Support, then restart your Mac How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support, and pair your Bluetooth speaker once again as new.

Also, when using your Bluetooth speaker with your Mac, you should disconnect it from any other device to see if that improves the quality in the audio.

If the behavior remains after these steps, feel free to reply back with an update and let me know if this happens when playing any other audio on your Mac via the Bluetooth speaker, outside of Spotify.

Best regards.

Thank you for your reply.

I have done all that. I have also made SMC and PRAM reset. I have also made reset bluetooth module. Nothing worked.

I did an Google search and I found out that there are some people who have the same issue, with different versions of oS.

I will try to listen to music, without using Spotify, so as to see if Spotify is the issue. I will keep you updated.
