iPhone X Activation Lock

Trying to unlock an old phone i had in storage. It says the email linked to the phone is not an email i have ever used or anyone in my household. I purchased it years ago so i don’t have original packaging or receipt. All i have is the phone itself. How do I get around the activation lock?

I recently found my old iPhone 4s that I used in middle school and I thought it would be a great idea to update it after never updating it in the 2 years I had it. Well, after updating it had sent me to the activation lock screen and I managed to find the account and password, change the email to a real email, and go back to the activation lock, but it still wanted the old email. I don't have the box that the phone came in because it was a hand me down from my cousin! So I wouldn't be able to contact apple for them to remove the lock themselves. activation lock help I'm trying to reset my iPad getting around the activation lock and I don't have any access from my old email what can I do? I have proof that I've purchased the iPad.

Activation Lock This phone is linked to an apple id. enter the apple id and password that were used to set up this phone. I'm the original owner and set this iPhone years ago and I no longer have that email or the password. Activation Lock, how do I go about resolve this situation?

You need the Apple ID and password that was used when the device was first set up. If you don’t know that, you can’t remove the Activation Lock.
