Green tint on MacBook Pro M1 brand new

I have a brand new MacBook Pro 14" 2021, received 22 Jan 2022.

The screen has a green tint to it. Is there any way to alter the colour?

I have only used it late at night. Could the time of day or ambient light levels be affecting it?

I have turned Night Shift off.

If I turn up the brightness, the screen colour goes brighter but still has a green cast to it.

Can I change the screen colour balance?

Hello ryane77,

I have found the answer. I set up my new MBP with the settings of my old MBP (early 2013). I had installed F.Lux, an app designed to remove some of the blue from the screen during the night, soit was easier on the eyes and less likely to keep me awake after using my machine.

This had moved to my new machine and altered the colour balance. I have now removed it and my colour balance is restored!

Thanks again for the link, they were most helpful.

Hello malcolmchisholm,

From your post it would appear you have a concern about the tint on the monitor of your MacBook Pro.

You may want to check and make sure the correct color profile is being used. In the upper left corner of the display, click on the Apple Logo > System Preferences > Displays. You should see Color Profile here. Make sure it shows MacBook Pro. You can try some of the other profiles to see if they look better.

If you are not able to get it to look the way you think it should, we would suggest you Contact - Official Apple Support.

Cheers.

Hello ryane77,

Thank you for your helpful reply. Yes, the colour profile is MacBook Pro. I tried changing the preset settings and every time I change it the screen goes light then after about half a second the green tint appears, as though it has been overlaid on the original screen image.

I will take your advice and go to Apple Support.

Thanks again,

Malcolm
