iPhone XR won't boot

My wife's iPhone XR recently was updated to OS 15.2.1 and is now experiencing a problem with booting. The Apple logo will show on a black background but then goes black totally. Have tried a hard reboot which will sometimes work but then shuts down almost immediately.

Do you have a backup? If so you might just recover from that.
