Hacked, is this legitimate or a scam?

I've a had something popping up ads on my computer for a few days as well as something that said it was apple support. This morning this popped up on my computer and it's saying my computer is locked down and to call the number on the bottom right. I want to know if this is apple legitimately or is this some sort of scam? Also if so, what number should I actually call to fix this?

Your computer does not get scanned unless you specifically are seeking outside help...

Apple does not scan a computer, nor interact through your browser proactively...

google the telephone number you see it is not Apple...

if your browser is stuck on this you can always force quit the App >Force Quit

When you relaunch the browser hold the Shift key down for a clean slate.

Reboot if necessary.

Force a shut down if necessary to get out from under the web page—

NEVER respond to pop ups or anything in an email by clicking on links or calling the phone numbers the criminals offer you.

If you want something, look up the legitimate number or web address yourself, and enter it manually.

NEVER provide or VERIFY any account information for ANY account unless:

YOU initiated the contact using fundamental sources, i.e., You placed the phone call to a number you looked up.

If any question, hang up and call them back at their well-known number of web address.
