Paste text in iOS notes

Since upgrading to iOS ver15 on both iPhone se2020 and iPad mini 4, I have noticed that pasting a line of text behaves differently.

The iPhone still inserts a blank line above and below the pasted text, while the iPad has returned to pasting just the copied text without the extra blank lines above and below, as it did before iOS 14.

Can we expect the iPhone iOS Notes App to change back to the previous method, ie. omitting the extraneous and unwanted blank lines?

Hello j0hn4,

Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities!

We understand your iPhone is adding extra spaces to the text when using the copy and paste functions.

Does this happen in multiple apps, or only when using the Notes app? Do you have any text apps installed?

Make sure you're using these steps to Select, cut, copy, and paste text on iPhone - Apple Support

Try a normal restart of the iPhone to see if that has any impact as well.

We hope this helps to resolve the issue.

Cheers!

hi jdo_apple

The behaviour in Notes App (described previously in

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251145938)

started happening on three iPhones and one iPad mini 4 when iOS and iPadOS upgraded to ios13.

it wasn't fixed at the time and seemed to just be ignored.

Since upgrading to iPadOS 15 the behaviour on iPad mini has been fixed and gone back to preferred.

But iOS 15 on iPhone(s) remains with the unwanted blank lines.

thanks
