They're Bluetooth. If your laptop has Bluetooth, yes they will work. My wife uses a Dell XPS15 with Bluetooth built in. The Airpods work, however, for some reason with online meetings (Zoom, GoToMeeting) they drop their connection after just a few minutes.

No worries. BTW, for what it's worth, I have some $49 knockoff wireless earbuds and have had the same experience. Fine with the phone, and fine when I try them with the computer, but I lose 'em a couple minutes into online meetings. For those meetings--and I need to have reliable comm as I'm usually the organizer--I use the old wired earbuds from my retired iPhone 4 along with a USB sound adapter and my Lenovo desktop PC.
