I'm buying an iPad from my school's tech store and they have claimed that the only iPad they have has to come with AppleCare because it was originally a "custom order" that had AppleCare. Is this for real? Or is the AppleCare still cancelable? I'm concerned that I'm being ripped off (but this is the only iPad they will have until 6-7 weeks from now).

Need to cancel your plan? You can cancel your AppleCare plan in the account settings on your device. If you don't see your plan when you try to cancel it, finish setting up your account. If you finished setting up your account and you still don't see your plan, contact Apple Support.
If you cancel your AppleCare plan, the monthly or annual billing2 can't be renewed. If you're no longer eligible for an AppleCare plan, you can't add it to your device again.

I agree it’s very strange they would lie to you.
I have no idea what type of purchase agreement your school may have with Apple (or the party from whom their purchase was made). The article linked above is for individual purchases.

Thank you - I guess I just wasn't sure if it would be different because I am buying the device from my school instead of directly from Apple, and it is a bit strange that they would lie to me.
