Does anybody know WHY you can't sort a playlist by date added?

I've seen the question asked all over the place - how do you sort tracks inside a playlist (on an iPhone). The only answer everybody gets is that that functionality isn't available.

Does anybody know why? This seems like really basic functionality. I tend to think most people would like to hear the latest music they have found first, instead of having to scroll to the bottom of their playlist. It's one of the last things keeping me from recommending anybody to switch to Apple Music. It's also one of the only things enticing me to change back to Spotify...

Help us out here, Apple. Put it on the roadmap. Build it in a hackathon. Outsource it. Do something.
