I used to have samsung phone and on there I could see the messages log in the call log. Even for the messages I had deleted I could see the number and time I sent the texts. I cannot see that in iphone is there any way to see the messages log in iphone?

The history of messages is Messages. If you delete the messages, they are gone. So, if keeping a record of them is important, don't delete them. You can see the date and time the message was sent when you open up the individual conversation.

The iPhone does not save messages information in the Recents call log. That log is for phone calls only. Idris explained the use of Messages. This feature on the Samsung seems to mix the two things together in Android. That is not done on the iPhone.
Messages are in the Messages app. They are nowhere else. If you want information on the contact, tap on the contacts icon at the top of the conversation. Then, tap "info".
Not the actual messages but just the history like the time and number you sent the messages too. There is a function in samsung, not sure if iPhone has got something like this.
I have attached a youtube video which explains what I mean. Probably iPhone doesn’t have this feature but I just wanted to double check.
