My Time Machine had an error - drive was full. I deleted some old files and now I have 1 TB free. It still says "disk is full...".

Sharing & Permissions - "You can only read". I can't find how to change it to read/write?

You can mess things up by attempting to delete backups for ™ . I

Did/does Time Machine preferences include the statement that old backup will automatically be deleted to free space?

Thus there should have been no "Full" error message.

Best now is to get another disk and use that disk as a ™ backup and retain the old one if you think you will need anything on it.

If you do not need any info from the old disk you can just reformat it and start a new backup.
