Macbook Pro Touch Bar gone mad and is working independently of me

Has anyone else experienced the Touch Bar on a Macbook Pro (16", 2019) going loopy? Mine just started adjusting the brightness on its own, along with turning the volume on and off mid-Zoom call. This then progressed to opening up random apps while writing and sending emails it wrote itself (mainly emojis and random words that would appear on the touch bar). Every time I restart the computer the problem repeats itself.

I've finally managed to disable the touch pad in SYSTEM PREFERENCES / KEYBOARD by changing the drop down on "Touch Bar Shows" to just "Quick Actions". This has allowed me to use my computer again, but if I put it back on "Expanded Control Strip" or any of the other Keyboard options, then the computer goes mad again.

I'd obviously like to use the Touch Bar - so does anyone have any suggestions? Or has anyone experienced this themselves?

On your Intel Mac for Touchbar issues you can—

reset the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

and

reset NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)

if no insight or resolve:

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—
