I need to update my OS to a Mac 10.14 or later and I can't figure out how to do it. The version I currently have is 10.13.6 Sierra. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I currently have version 10.13.6 High Sierra and need to have 10.14 or later in order for my new printer to work. How do I go about downloading the 10.14 or later OS version.

iMac, OS X 10.11

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which iMac model you have, click on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. It needs to be at least a 2012 one to run a newer OS. For reference, Sierra is 10.12 and High Sierra is 10.13.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check other programs, click here and look them up.

The model year of an iMac is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

A late 2009 through mid 2011 iMac can be upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6 but no later version. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683

A late 2012 through late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683

A mid 2014 and late 2014 can be upgraded to the latest version of Big Sur macOS 11 but no later. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683

A late 2015 or later can be upgraded to the current version of Monterey macOS 12. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212735

Hi,

Which exact new printer model do you have? Someone here could perhaps suggest a workaround for use with macOS 10.13 High Sierra, if necessary.

A network connection could mean that additional drivers are not required at all (such as with an AirPrint-enabled model), or that certain generic drivers can be used.

USB-connected printers normally need drivers (a few exceptions in the above AirPrint article in fine).

The printer manufacturer may provide special software (for setup, ink management, or similar purposes) with higher system requirements than what is needed for printing per se.

I need to update my OS to a Mac 10.14 or later and I can't figure out how to do it. The version I currently have is 10.13.6 Sierra. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
