How do you delete multiple emails?

I am sure that this has been asked and maybe even answered, but I will ask again. How do you delete multiple messages when you have a trillion? I do not wish to delete all messages I want to delete certain subjects but I can't seem to find that delete all until I get into the trash maybe.. But if I want to delete 20 of I don't know....lets say "The newspaper" I have to search for it but I can't delete them all at once I have to delete them 1 by 1. Does anybody else have that problem?? Also I've tried using an outside app to help me delete multiple pictures and emails and it was a disaster. Thank you if you can help. And if you can help then thank you for reading.

There are several methods to easily delete multiple emails. You start by identifying the messages that you wish to delete - using a combination of selecting a filtered view in the Mail App sidebar (e.g., to list only Unread or Flagged Mail) and/or use the Search dialogue:

Flag and filter emails on iPad - Apple Support

Search for email in Mail on iPad – Apple Support

You will now have a list of filtered/selected Mail. Next, tap the Edit button at top-right of the Mail sidebar; simply swipe your finger down (or up) the left-side of the message list to bulk select Mail Messages. Sliding your finger slightly above or below the visible window will scroll while selecting; when you are done, lift your finger.

To delete the selected messages, tap the Bin (or Delete/Trash - this being dependent upon your region settings) button at bottom-right of the sidebar.

Hi Angela2day, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

Because the title of your post mentions emails I have included the following link that explains how to delete multiple emails in an iPad:

However, I have included the link to delete messages as you also mentioned this in the body of your post:
