i updated to iOS 15.2.1 on an iPhone 12 and now my Mac iPhoto app doesn't see some of the photos and will not import anything. I have OS X Sierra. Anyone having this problem? Suggestions?

Try running Image Capture with the iPhone plugged in and tell it you want to import them to Photos.
Thank you! Interesting, I told it to import to Photos and it disconnected the same as before. I set up a new folder on the desktop and chose that as the location and it worked. Problem not solved but the work around is perfect. Thanks again!
How are you trying to import? Is the iCloud Photo Library enabled on the phone?
No cloud, just plugging it in to the computer with USB
