Data won't work on social media apps. Won't work on youtube, instagram, tik tok.

Data won't work on social media apps. Won't work on youtube, instagram, tik tok. It will work on safari and iMessage. I've tried every easy fix and nothing worked. Could this be an iphone 11 glitch?

I’m having this same issue. I thought it was a Verizon issue, but received a new phone and it still isn’t working. Verizon is stumped and directed me here and said it’s an Apple issue. I’ve done all the resets, all data is on, some apps have connection and others say no connection. Any suggestions?

So, I started wondering if the setting you spoke of, was something I could get to myself, from my Tmobile acct, and started looking through her setting and comparing then to the settings for the other lines we have on our acct. She did have somethings toggled on in there that weren't toggled on for our other lines for some reason, so I flipped them off, but they didn't work, so I dug around in more settings and also noticed that her line was also the only line that had her web guard settings set to "High". I read all of what the high web filter does, and did say that apps that have potential for showing inappropriate content is blocked (TikTok). I set it to medium, but that didn't work, so I tried the low setting (still blocks porn, drugs, etc but still allows for social media content) setting it to the low setting seems to have worked. She's been able to have full use of her phone again without relying on WiFi and hotspots! Here's exactly what I did!


>Logged in to our MyTmobile Acct.

>Went to "Profile" and selected her phone number from the drop down menu

>Scrolled down to "Family Controls"

>Clicked on "Web Guard"

>Selected "Low" and clicked the "Save changes" button


It worked!! I have no idea how thise settings were put so high though. My husband and I certainly didn't do it, so it's strange. But, whatever! It's fixed!!

It's TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc. It's even some of her gaming apps like Roblox and Minecraft. It's on her personal iPhone, and attached to my plan. We have 4 lines, on my plan and hers is the only one with issues. Upgraded her to a new phone and the problem persists. Even updated the plan on her line... didn't work either.

Verify your Cellular Options:

See if you can use these apps on Cellular:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Cellular or Settings
  3. Tap: Mobile Data


If not listed, then you cannot use data with them.

Private Relay:

Private Relay a bit new of an issue being troubleshot by Malwarebytes. As you visit sites throughout the years, a profile is created of you (electronically). So, knowing who you are --your services may not be working as they should. IDK.

Contact the Developer:

Contact the Social Media App's developers. You find their Contact Us information in the App's site of the App Store. Ask them what is going on.

We replaced the SIM card today and it didn't work, so we upgraded her phone to a 12... issue continues despite using a new phone entirely. So SIM card swap didn't work, and neither did a new phone."

Contact the Social Media Platform:

See what the social media platform your daughter is using has to say on this. If it is a company-owned device, then it might be overruled, in which case, you'd contact the Web Master (the person who manages the school's network). If it is a personal-owned device, then, ask the social media platform: "Why the issue?". Report back what they say.

Please please let me know if that works once you've tried it! I've been considering that myself, actually. I've been on the fence about doing that though. We've moved to another state, and we've kept our original area codes since the state we moved to has higher cellular taxes. Changing our number would essentially raise my bill, but if I know for certain a phone number change will fix it, then I'd be willing to take that plunge. Lol
