Copying file titles?
I remember back long-ago being able to copy the names of files in Finder list view. I cannot do it now.
What I have is a folder open in list view. I would like to copy the titles of the individual files in the folder so that I can then carry this titles over to a new document and paste them into a list in the new document.
What I remember doing in the past was to select all the files so that they are highlighted. I could then hit "copy." Finder then transferred the titles to Clipboard. From there I pasted the titles as a list in the next document.
Now, though, when I select and copy of the individual files and do the paste, I get full copies of the contents of the files, not the titles of the files.
It's been so long since I did this title-copying that I suspect it might have been back in Classic Mac.
Does anyone know if there is a present technique for copying only the titles of files in Finder?
FWIW, I am pasting into MS Word. I would not think that that makes a difference, as I used Word with Classic Mac, too.
