When I download a file with accents, all the accents become Ã" or characters like that, so I need to rename them myself each time. It is the same when I browse my mouse over "System preferences", it is written "Préférences SystÃ"me".

I wanted to know if someone knew how to fix this bug, thank you.

Ouch!!!!!

You have the nasty "mackeeper", plus other apparent adware:

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.AssistiveRecord.service.plist

Executable: ~/Library/Application Support/.9244651991066275668/Services/com.AssistiveRecord.service/AssistiveRecord.service -s 6600

Details: Executable file is hidden - possibly adware

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.7200630037058732237.plist

Executable: ~/Library/Application Support/com.15382030617740385471/16037331794416105519 77EE4152-303F-5134-B311-9FFD168D3B09 1137

Details: Domain name invalid - possibly adware

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.mackeeper.MacKeeper-Info.plist

Executable: /Applications/MacKeeper.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeperAgent.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeper Info.app/Contents/MacOS/MacKeeper Info

Launchd: /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.AssistiveRecord.system.plist

Executable: /Library/Application Support/.9244651991066275668/System/com.AssistiveRecord.system/AssistiveRecord.system -t com.AssistiveRecord.system

Details: Executable file is hidden - possibly adware

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.mackeeper.MacKeeper-Reminder.plist

Executable: /Applications/MacKeeper.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeperAgent.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeper Reminder.app/Contents/MacOS/MacKeeper Reminder

You also have something called "mac cleaner" - never install any program that claims to "clean", "optimize" or "speed up" your mac.

Login Item: ~/.Trash/Mac Cleaner.app/Contents/MacCleanerReminder.app

The thing with mackeeper is that it is a sneaky *******. It may have hidden itself.

You could try deleting the files that Etrecheck reports:

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.mackeeper.MacKeeper-Reminder.plist

Executable: /Applications/MacKeeper.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeperAgent.app/Contents/Library/LaunchAgents/MacKeeper Reminder.app/Contents/MacOS/MacKeeper Reminder

In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.mackeeper.MacKeeper-Reminder.plist

then trash this file; similarly, with

/Applications/MacKeeper.app

and trash it; but I am not sure if it will work.

Often, such a nasty beast gets hold of one's mac, the ultimate solution is a clean install.

Make a full backup, erase and install, and then ONLY migrate the user accounts, and nothing else.

Reinstall the applications you may need, either from the App Store or their developers' sites, and never from "aggregating" sites that post copies of apps riddled with adware and other forms of malware.

And never trust any program that claims to clean, optimize or speed up your mac; they're scams.

The RogueAmoeba thing is a legitimate audio software.

You should not need any "cleaner" - ccleaner is something that I hear windows users depend on to clean their messes, but there is no need and should be no cleaner on a mac.

The zoom thing is, well, for Zoom. A lot of people have used Zoom this past two years, as it has become one of the leading applications for remote meetings. I use it constantly. If you use Zoom, don't mess with this file.

No idea about this "pchelp" thing.

Where exactly is this screenshot from security? Is it from "Full Disk Access"?

Note that all the applications there being unchecked, they are not being given permission to whatever it is.

Do you use the Terminal? If you do, then you probably want to check its box, otherwise not.

Etrecheck we know of, and when used to produce its report it is best to give it Full Disk Access (and turn that option in the application too) for a more complete report.

The application with a long and numeric name is suspicious. I would remove it from the list by selecting and pressing "-", unless you know what it is.

For the sshd-... thing, it is a normal thing. See MrHoffman's reply on this thread:

Thanks for your explanations. Yeah, it is from "Full Disk Access".

I don't use Terminal so I will probably leave it unchecked. I also got removed the weird numeric name.

Thanks for the link to this thread, I read it and it was very instructive.

Thanks for your help, I ran a last Etrecheck report, do you mind telling me if there is something wrong? There are no more large problems. (sorry it is in French, I even downloaded the English version on website)
