Since the software update from Monterey to Ventura, it is impossible to find words with accent in a PDF file. I tried on an iMac and on a Mac Book and it did not worked on both machines. I open a PDF with Apercu and I search for a words containing an accent (é, è, à etc.) and Apercu can not find any words even if there are many. If the words has no accent, it works well. Does anyone has a way around ?
Apple's Preview PDF reader ignores accented characters in PDF Find requests but the current Adobe Acrobat Reader DC will offer the first word it finds with the accented character as the sole Find request.
Talk with the Apercu developer as they will know if Apercu is compatible with Ventura.
Well, since Preview does not find accented syllables or words on Ventura, then it is useless for your purposes, and you will need to use the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Use the tool that works.
You can send direct feedback to the macOS product team about this lacking of accent search functionality in Preview. Use the real product name: Preview, not Apercu, which the product team will not understand.
Thank you for your fast answer VickingOSX. Actually, before the update to Ventura, it was possible to find words with accents in Preview (Aperçu). Unfortunately, it is not the case anymore with Ventura. I know that I can use Adobe Acrobat Reader but I would like to keep using Preview as far as possible.

Very annoying for me this issue. I sent a feedback too and i hope this bug will get resolved in macOS 13.1 in december.
Well.... I just installed the update Ventura 13.1 and the problem is still there :(
