I use my phone for business calls and all my clients complaint about how muffled my voice is even when I have my apple air pods on.
Can you please let me know if it is the phone itself? I got my phone on Nov 11 and happy to return the same for one that works

Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
For the Airpods, try this:
Open the Settings app and go to the Bluetooth section. Next to the AirPods entry on the list of devices, you should see an “i” icon inside of a circle. Tap this, then select microphone, and set it to either left, right or automatic. Try switching it back and forth.
Then, test with the Voice Memos app.
