Wifi does not work away from home

Do you mean you cannot connect to to your Home's Wi-Fi when outside your house? If so, then that is normal. Wi-Fi has a limited range a few hundred feet without any interference. Your Home Wi-Fi would only be available while inside your house or very near it. Don't expect to connect to your home Wi-Fi while in the middle of the city or when sitting at a restaurant far from your house. That's not how Wi-Fi works.
If you mean you cannot connect to any public Wi-Fi network when you area way from your house, then that may depend on the Wi-fi network you are trying to connect to, and wether its password protected or not.
Please explain your issue in as much detail as possible.
