Best way to remote connect to mac

Hi all

I have a mac mini M1 on my LAN at home, which I would like to connect to remotely from a PC. I do have a firewall set up on the mini, and my switch (actually a NAS) does not have port forwarding set up, in addition to having its own firewall - I was a victim of ransomware on my NAS about six months ago, and i've been super gun-shy ever since wrt network security.

What's the best way of doing this?

I do the reverse all the time (logging into the PC from the mac mini) via Microsoft remote desktop.

Thanks!

Geoff
