The answer in the forum did not address my question...only how to change a font in a note you are writing. I need to set the DEFAULT font "permanently" and the "Preferences" for Notes does not address this at all,. Can anyone guide me through?

I would like to be able to set a default font for the Notes App on a MacBook Pro. There is no way to set a default font on Notes. Can that be an added feature to the "preferences" screen in Notes?

Agree with previous posting AFAIK - the Default Font can not be set by the user.
I don't believe you can. Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added to the system via Feedback - macOS - Apple.
