long press on audio message and you will

get to see this screen.

then press on the zigzag line and you will be given the option on where to save it.

as demonstrated below

IMessage audio messages. Where do they save? I want to save some of my audio messages as actual files I can transfer and keep on my computer instead of having to scroll and search for them in the text thread. Is there any way to do this? They use to save into voice memos, but no longer. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Where do saved audio from the iMessages app go when saved on iPhone? When someone sends me an audio file via iMessages there's an option to "save" - Where does it go??? it's not in Files nor does it show up in the Voice Memos, like it used to. This question was asked a couple years ago and only had one reply where they explained a workaround where you could email the files to yourself. Yes, I know you can save them to a bunch of diffrent programs on the phone (eg DropBox, OneNote, etc) but I find it hard to belive that the Save function isn't supposed to land them in the Voice Memos. Like it used to do just fine. It just seems like a dumb apple oversight.
