Recovery Key

Why does my recovery key say off, but when I click on "manage..." it says on? I generated a recovery key a while ago and I wrote it down, but when I checked today that's how it appeared. So I'm not sure if it is off or on? In the image I inserted, you can see it says "off" in the background at the bottom, but it also says "on" on the main tab. It also appears this way on my iPhone where it says its off, but when clicked on it is swiped "on".

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about your Recovery Key.

Since you created a key and it shows on enabled on the second screen, it will be on, unless you turn it off: How to generate a recovery key - Apple Support

"If you decide to stop using a recovery key, follow the steps above on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and slide to turn off Recovery Key. On your Mac, click Turn Off in the Recovery Key section."
