lost pages document

Is it possible to find a lost document's data after you tried to save it with a file of the same name?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.1

Only if you were using Time Machine and the overwritten file was backed up beforehand. In that case, and using /Applications/Time Machine, you could navigate to the pre-overwritten date, use Quick Look on the document to ensure that it was the content you wanted to restore, and then restore the original.
