Since downloading Monteray 12.1 the option 3 to get the GBP sign as disappeared

I have a Macbook pro with USA keyboard before Monterey I used option/3 to get the GBP sign now I've downloaded Monterey 12.1 I can't find the pound sign can anyone help please?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

Which key has the £ sign depends entirely on what you have got set in system prefs > keyboard > input sources (not your keyboard printing or your language and region settings or your MacOS version) If you have US or ABC there it will be Option 3. If you have British there it will be Shift 3. Just change that preference to have it where you want it.

What do you mean you "can't find the £ sign"? It's there, above the 3


If the KB is British. Above my 3 is the # sign. Above my 4 is the $ sign (the sunburnt Australian one, not the green US one).


GeraldEd is probably referring to the ability to use the KB commands to render the £ sign if you don't have a British KB.


My Monterey is freshly updated to 12.2 and I can use Option/3 to get the pound sign, GeraldEd.
