Trying to remove something from local storage.

Monterey 12.1 Safari 15.2

I am trying to remove the following.

downdetector.co.uk

If I go into Safari Preferences, Privacy, Manage websites data.

I can clear everything in there, including the cookies for the above, but I'm left with the local storage bit.

I can't find it anywhere.

I have had a look to see how to remove it via google, but it says to go into your app store, and your settings, subscriptions, but there's nothing there, I have also never subscribed to it.

I'm not even sure how I got it.

Anyway...does anyone know how to get rid of it from the local storage please?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.1

This kind of sounds like " Evercookies " to me. Do a google screech for the term.

Evercookie Removal

Close Safari first

On desktop go to GO and then GO TO FOLDER

Copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/Databases

A folder called _indexedDB

Open _indexedDB

See another folder called v1 and open it

The folder inside the v1 can be Drag and Drop to Trash ( not the folder v1 but folders inside v1 )

Launch Safari again and check if all is ok and Clear History

Then check if the Local Data is removed.
